Olympiad Stages
Preliminary Assessment
Conducted within participating school premises under school coordinator supervision. Evaluates fundamental conceptual grasp. Top 10% of students advance to Stage 2.
National Merit Competition
Conducted at designated regional nodal centers across state capitals. Evaluates advanced problem-solving, multi-step calculations, and experimental reasoning. Determines National Ranks.

What is the format and duration of the JPO Exam?
The School Level Exam is a 60-minute paper consisting of 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) designed to test conceptual clarity. The National Level Exam is 90 minutes with multi-correct and numerical response questions.
Is there negative marking in JPO?
No, there is no negative marking in the School Level Preliminary Round to encourage confident attempt by students.
Can individual students register if their school is not participating?
We strongly encourage school registration through the principal or coordinator. However, individual student entries are reviewed under regional open slots.
